Life can be so hard sometimes. The demands of family and jobs can feel overwhelming. The things we turn to for comfort such as food, alcohol or other substances can be harmful in the long run. Striving for perfection can leave us feeling guilty and exhausted. Echoes of past traumas can be intrusive.
It helps to have someone to process this with – someone who will not condemn or judge you. Therapy can give you a chance to take a deep breath and sort out the answers that lie within. It’s a safe haven to explore your feelings and get support.
I provide a safe, non-judgmental, open setting. It has been my privilege to be in this field for 37 years. Together we can sort out your challenges, and plan to move beyond them You are not alone.
To paraphrase a poem by George Elliot, therapy “is the comfort, the inexpressible comfort, of feeling safe with a person – having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring it out just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful, friendly hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of comfort, blow the rest away”.
