I have always liked this quote: “People who need help sometimes look a lot like people who don’t need help.”
I am drawn to this quote and to counseling because I am a person who has lived through a storm or two. And, although your storm and mine may not look the same, I believe we all have common needs: to heal from something in our past, to overcome stress, fear and anxiety that makes us feel powerless or hopeless, or to navigate through an important relationship that is difficult.
I look forward to helping you with growth and change by developing a connected, supportive relationship that allows you to find solutions, insights and new ways of life that are fulfilling.
My career so far has been spent working with women who’ve experienced trauma, children and families. For the past twenty years, I have worked with families whose children have joined their families through foster care and adoption. I have recently completed training in Trust Based Relational Intervention and look forward to incorporating these principles into my work.
